Peterson Solutions Fund Names Brett Loper as New Executive Director

NEW YORK (November 2, 2023) — Brett Loper has been named Executive Director of the nonpartisan Peterson Solutions Fund (PSF) according to an announcement today. Loper has spent decades working in Washington advising lawmakers and businesses on key policy matters. As leader of PSF, he will bring a deep knowledge of political strategy and policymaking as well as a commitment to public service. He will work to advance initiatives to stabilize America’s fiscal outlook, improve the performance of our healthcare system and strengthen the pillars of our democracy to support a growing, thriving economy over the long term. Loper will also serve as Senior Advisor to the Peter G. Peterson Foundation.

Currently, Loper is Executive Vice President for Government Affairs at American Express, where he leads the team that coordinates American Express’ engagement strategy with policymakers in the United States and around the globe. Prior to his work at American Express, Mr. Loper was Deputy Chief of Staff to House Speaker John Boehner and served as his top policy advisor and chief legislative strategist. He has held a number of senior roles in the White House and Congress, including the House Committee on Ways and Means, the House Majority Leader’s office, and the White House Office of Management and Budget under President George W. Bush.
